Product weight and handling
Some of our products weight as much as 450 pounds, we understand that most homes don't have a forklift in their garage, home delivery will be on trucks with lift gates for heavy items. Heavy products like showers can be broken down into their individual pieces from the lift gate, and transported to your garage, or home in parts.
Free Shipping on Small Items
We offer free standard shipping everyday on U.S. orders over $50* when shipping to the lower 48 states. This free shipping offer excludes Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. Box or APO/FPO/DPO and International orders. Orders under $50 ship for only $9.95 to most destinations within the contiguous United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska). Free shipping does not include the $255 Liftgate fee for residential orders on items over 100 lbs.

Shipping on Oversized Items
We offer Standard Curbside Delivery Service with Liftgate for $255. This service is for oversized items on U.S. orders when shipping to the lower 48 states. This shipping offer excludes Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. Box or APO/FPO/DPO and International orders. NOTE: American Bath Factory cannot guarantee delivery to every home. Should other arrangements be necessary such as pickup from the terminal, the customer may be required to cover any additional costs associated with those services. Hawaii, Alaska and International Orders
Shipping charges on freight orders delivered to Alaska, Hawaii and International orders will be quoted. Due to import fees, brokerage charges, and government taxes constantly changing, shipping quotes and charges do not include these fees. Unless otherwise stated on the quote, payment of these charges is the sole responsibility of the customer.
Shipping of Oversized Items
Larger, heavier items will be shipped through one of our several freight carriers by pallet or other measures. If you are not sure whether the item you are about to purchase will be shipped freight or not, please ask us prior to placing your order.
- Freight shipping will be Standard Curbside Delivery Service with Liftgate. In some locations the customer may be required to help unload items from off the back of the freight truck. Customers will be responsible for bringing any merchandise into their home and/or garage. We recommend that you have someone available to assist you with receiving your order.
- Freight trucks are large and can often be actual tractor trailers. If the road in which the package is being delivered is narrow or remote by the freight carrier’s required standards, the delivery truck may not be able to fit and accommodate delivery. In this instance, the delivery will need to be arranged at the closest main road. If a delivery to home is requested, additional fees may be required to accommodate. Returns, for this reason, are considered as a refusal and subject to a restocking fee.
- Freight delivery drivers are not full-service movers and do not bring merchandise inside a buyer’s residence due to liability. They also do not unpack and remove the merchandise from the shipping cartons. It is the buyer’s responsibility to do this as is the case with any order that is purchased online and shipped. The buyer is also responsible for discarding said shipping materials and wooden freight pallet if applicable.
Please note should your home be in a rural or remote area whenever we are able to we will accommodate a delivery of oversized items, delivery may take an additional 1-2 weeks and/or additional delivery fees may apply. Oversized items cannot be shipped to rural routes, APO/FPO addresses, or P.O. boxes.
Oversized items are large products that must ship through a freight carrier based on meeting one or more of the following criteria:
- Weigh 151 lbs. or more when packaged
- Length measures 108 in. or more
- Girth measures 165 in. or more
- If an item ships on a wooden pallet, regardless of weight (generally 100-150 lb.)
Oversized items generally leave our warehouse within 7-21 business days unless otherwise specified in the product details and deliveries will take 3-10 business days after it leaves our warehouse.
Unfortunately at this time we do not offer inside delivery.
General Oversized Delivery Info
Oversized items ship with Standard Curbside Delivery Service with Liftgate. The carrier will arrange an appointment with you for delivery once it arrives at the destination terminal. Persons 18 years of age or older must be present to accept and sign for the delivery.
The Standard Curbside Delivery Service includes a liftgate service that will lower your shipment from the freight truck and be delivered to the curb or end of the driveway outside the requested delivery address. You will be responsible for transport beyond that point. The order is left in the original packaging and they will not take the packaging with them. A Customer signature is required but please make sure to inspect the delivery before signing for the shipment. American Bath Factory cannot guarantee a freight company’s delivery schedule.
Scheduling Your Delivery
The freight carrier will call you 24-48 hours prior to delivery to arrange a delivery time that will vary depending on the freight carrier's schedule. Whatever information you can give during the phone call will be given to the driver to make the delivery easier for them and for you. Carriers are only able to deliver Monday-Friday during normal business hours (8:00 AM and 5:00 PM) and they will typically give you a 4-6 hour delivery window.
Inform the carrier if you have any circumstances that could affect the delivery (additional fees may apply):
- Very narrow driveway
- Dead-end street
- Ferry for island locations, etc. (fees may apply)
- The driver will need to park in a particular place
- Delivery to a side door or garage entrance
Storage Fees: Daily storage fees may also apply if you do not accept delivery within 2 business days of the freight carrier’s first attempt to schedule delivery. If you missed a phone call from the freight carrier, then contact the freight carrier back as soon as possible. After 2 business days, the freight carrier may store your item and you may be charged storage fees.
Please make sure not to miss your delivery appointment; you may incur additional delivery fees such as re-delivery, storage charges and/or return shipping costs. Please note if you are not available at the time of delivery, the item will not be delivered and re-delivery/return fees will apply.
Missing Your Delivery Appointment
If you are not available for your delivery appointment, you may be subject to additional fees such as storage charges and/or re-delivery. Carrier’s re-delivery fees usually range from $30-$150.
Also, keep in mind that if the freight carrier is not able to contact you for delivery, they may return your item to our warehouse and you will be responsible for the cost of return shipping.
If you need to reschedule your delivery appointment, please contact the carrier at least 24 hours in advance.
Additional Delivery Fees
Please be aware of the following additional fees that may apply to your delivery and will be billed by the carrier.
Time Definite Fee: This fee may apply if you request a specific delivery time outside of the freight carrier's normal business hours (usually 9 am – 5 pm). The fee can range from $35- $150 or more depending on your location and request. Because the freight carrier determines available delivery times, certain days and times are not available in all areas.
Deliveries to Apartments: The carrier will take the item to the building's loading dock or the nearest ground-level entry. Depending on the building's design, the carrier may leave some deliveries at the main office.
Products You Will Not Use Right Away
If you are holding your items awaiting completion of a home improvement project, DO NOT WAIT to inspect the items. Please note on all copies of the delivery receipt and/or Bill of Lading of any damage, scuffs or defects before signing. All damages, defects or missing pieces need to be reported within 48 hours of delivery to American Bath Factory in order to be able to file a claim. After this time, you may be financially responsible to purchase a replacement part or to return the item.
Bill of Lading/Delivery Receipt
At the time of delivery, the carrier will provide you with a delivery receipt and/or a Bill of Lading. This is your record of shipment, and agreement of the delivery and condition of your item.
DO NOT SIGN the Bill of Lading until you thoroughly inspect your shipment at the time of delivery. It is very important that you inspect the shipment to ensure the item is not damaged, even if the box looks to be ok.
It is also important to NOT wait to inspect the items even if your project will not start soon.
In Case of Damage
All damage and defects must be noted on all copies of the delivery receipt and/or a Bill of Lading and reported to American Bath Factory Product Support within 24 hours at 1-800-454-2284 Ext 22 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If the item is severely damaged, refuse the item and note on the Bill of Lading “Refused Due to Damage”.
Please make sure you thoroughly inspect your item while the carrier is still at your home. Any damages/defects MUST BE NOTED upon signing for the delivery. If your shipment looks fine at delivery, but you notice damage or a defect after the carrier leaves, contact American Bath Factory to report the situation within 24 hours at 1-800-454-2284 Ext 22 or email us at email@example.com.
Make note of the following details:
- Package condition (scuffs, holes or tears in the box, broken pallet, squished corners, etc.)
- How it was received (left at the front door, signed for), and description of the damage
Please do the following:
- Take several pictures showing the affected area(s)
- DO NOT discard any of the shipping box or packing materials
- DO NOT discard the product itself because it may be necessary for the carrier to inspect the item and report on the damage
- DO NOT ship the item back to American Bath Factory without first being instructed to do so. Failure to comply may result in denial of a damaged item claim per the shipping carrier’s claims guidelines.
Special Delivery Options & Services
American Bath Factory customers are automatically charged for liftgate fees associated with lifting the product off of the delivery truck; any and all charges incurred for any additional accessorial charges by customer request at the time of delivery, will be charged back to the purchasing customer.
You will be responsible for full freight charges and applicable fees going both ways and possibly a minimum 20% restocking fee for shipments that are refused for any reason other than the shipment was damaged in transit (not applicable to items damaged in storage) or if a shipping error was made by American Bath Factory.
We defined custom products as products that are personalized for a customer. Personal or custom features are options outside of our normal selections, such as special dimensions, custom colors (Splash of Color), special drain locations, as well as special bathtub faucet hole drilling. These can add 2 - 3 business days to the time before the product leaves our factory. These alterations also make the item Final Sale items.
Showers and Accessories
All showers that are not in the stock program, are made to order. Showers take about 15 business days to manufacture. Delivery times are usually between 1 - 7 business days, depending on distance, weather and other factors from Southern California.
All bathtubs that are not in the stock program, are made to order. Bathtubs take 10 - 15 business days to manufacture. Delivery times are usually between 1 - 7 business days, depending on distance, weather and other factors from Southern California.
Faucets and Accessories
Faucets and accessories we keep a large amount of inventory in stock, and leave the factory in 5 - 15 business days (if for some reason we are out of stock, we will be notifying you and your order will be expedited once it is restocked) .
Track Your Package
American Bath Factory works with USPS, UPS, and FedEx to track the product all the way to you. Tracking numbers are available within 24 hours of your item being shipped.
